In the week following the release of the new European approach to regulating AI in the EU, Croatian AI Association, in cooperation with its European AI Forum partners, KI Bundesverband e.V., Hub France IA, AI Austria, ai4si (AI for Slovenia), AI Cluster Bulgaria, AI Sweden & Nederlandse AI Coalitie | NL AIC organized a hearing with Mr. Kilian Gross, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Policy Development and Coordination Unit (DG CONNECT).

The EU’s proposed Regulation for AI is the first of its kind in the world – the European Union doesn’t want to leave this highly sensitive sector at the discretion of tech companies nor does it want to over-regulate it, but to build a “human-centric” approach.

Our Managing Director and the Head of Public Policy at CroAI Milly Doolan had the pleasure of co-moderating the hearing, which was an opportunity for the whole sector to directly communicate with the person in charge of this new Act. It is worth mentioning that the idea of sandboxes found its place in the proposal, which was one of CroAI’s key recommendations during the White Paper consultations. EuroNavigator is very proud to take part in these groundbreaking activities and initiatives.
