The accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union has posed many challenges for Croatia regarding the implementation of European and national policies and the use of available financial mechanisms. Officers and officials at all levels, central, regional and local, have faced new planning and decision-making processes, and the development and implementation of strategic documents. In order to meet these needs, the National School for Public Administration, using the funds from the European Union Program for Croatia IPA 2012, designed the project “Establishment of training systems for good governance at local and regional level”.
As part of the project, the Good Governance Program for Local and Regional Leaders was developed for counties, county deputies, mayors, deputy mayors and heads of administrative departments in cities and counties. One of the coaches on this project was the Managing Director of EuroNavigator, Daniel Mondekar, who trained the participants on the art of lobbying in Brussels and advocating the interest of local and regional communities.
